Darcy Padilla captures life and death in The Julie Project, which follows the life of Julie from 1993 to her eventual drug-induced demise in 2010. In the most gritty and honest way imaginable, Padilla’s camera follows Julie through poverty, break-ups, struggles with drugs, countless births, her boyfriend’s AIDS, time in jail and death. It’s impossible to describe accurately or to do it justice through words.
